Governor Evans, in 1974, was the first person to rappel down the clock tower at the Evergreen State College (I was a recent graduate at the time). Everyone else got a photo of the whole
clock tower. I got close to the bottom, on a small hillock, with a 135mm lens and got the only shot taken with his face in the image. I'm really proud of this. But when I sent a copy to him, he never
even acknowledged it. Recently, the University of Washington wanted a copy for display, but they failed to contact me and ended up not using it. While I love the shot, I guess the powers that be
didn't. Sad for me, and for them, too. Personally, I think this is a great shot. |
