While Aruna Mohanty and Yudhisthir Nayak were in the Pacific Northwest with their musicians they visited several local schools in the Bethel and Tacoma school districts to give the children and teens some understanding of, and hopefully appreciation for, another culture. In addition to explaining and demonstrating the art of Orissi Dance Aruna Mohanty fielded questions from the students regarding the art and the country it originated in.
Michael J. Sandner, Director of Arts Education & Curriculum Integration, invited the visiting artists to Bethel School District. Mr. Sandner made good advantage of having recently gotten a new digital camera to create a visual record of the visit.
